Ingredients
- 1 cup Farmer John Classic Bacon, cooked and chopped1 cup
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter4 tablespoons
- 4 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour4 tablespoons
- 12 ounces Beer (Pilsner or Ale)12 ounces
- 1 pound Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded1 pound
- 8 ounces Cream Cheese8 ounces
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder1 teaspoon
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder1 teaspoon
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika1 teaspoon
- Pretzels, Crackers, Veggies or Farmer John Polish Sausage Slices for dipping
Instructions
Cook bacon according to package directions and roughly chop
In a medium saucepan on medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Pro tip: Use bacon grease instead of butter
Gradually add beer, cream cheese, and milk, and whisk together until smooth. Let cook on medium-low for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened
Remove from the heat, then add the cheese and whisk until melted and well incorporated. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and chopped bacon. Taste and add salt, if necessary
Serve with pretzels, crackers, veggies, or crusty bread. Goes great with Farmer John Classic Polish Sausages!
