Farmer John Beef Franks
2 12 oz Packages
1/4 Cup
Yellow Mustard
1/4 Cup
2 Tablespoons
Unsalted Butter, Melted
2 Tablespoons
8 Oz
Barbecue Sauce, Preferably Spicy
8 Oz

Dry Rub Ingredients

1 Teaspoon
Paprika
1 Teaspoon
1/4 Teaspoon
Cayenne
1/4 Teaspoon
1 Teaspoon
Yellow Mustard Powder
1 Teaspoon
1/4 Teaspoon
Black Pepper
1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Cut beef franks into thirds and set aside while making the dry rub.

  2. Dry Rub: Combine all the ingredients together. Coat beef franks with the yellow mustard, then sprinkle the dry rub evenly over the meat.

  3. Drizzle the melted butter over a sheet pan, then spread the beef franks out on the pan.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes so they crisp up on all sides.

  5. After baking, slather barbecue sauce all over the beef franks. Serve using toothpicks and don’t be shy with your sauce!

  6. Cooking tip: Add wood chips to create a nice, gentle smoke flavor. You can use hickory or mesquite chips for your smoker, or liquid smoke if that works better.
