Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat
Open and roll each hot dog bun flat with a rolling pin or use a weight press. Spread the outside of each bun with 1 tablespoon of butter. Place buns on the skillet, butter side down, Sprinkle the tops evenly with 1/3 cup shredded cheese
Grill beef franks for 2 minutes on the flat side until they start to brown, then flip over and grill for another minute on the other side. Transfer the beef franks to one side of the bun and sprinkle with more shredded cheese
Close the bun over the beef franks and grill until the cheese is completely melted. Serve with ketchup and mustard. Side options: potato chips, fries or tater tots
