On a sheet pan, bake sweet potato or crinkle cut fries according to package directions. Toss lightly with black pepper and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cut ham steaks to the skillet and cook in the butter until lightly browned.
Transfer ham steaks to a plate and loosely cover with foil to keep warm.
In the same skillet with the butter, whisk together pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, garlic, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a simmer. Cook and stir until thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Pour the brown sugar glaze over the ham steaks.
Serve ham steaks with baked sweet potato or crinkle cut fries on the side.
