Directions


  1. Peppers & Onions: Melt unsalted butter in a medium-sized sauté pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Peppers & Onions: Once melted, cook bell peppers and yellow onion for 10-12 minutes or until the vegetables are soft, stirring frequently.

  3. Peppers & Onions: Season with salt and pepper and keep warm until ready to use.

  4. How to Make Subs: Sear sausage slices over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side or until each side is an even brown color.

  5. How to Make Subs: Meanwhile, heat the cheddar cheese sauce on the stove until hot.

  6. How to Make Subs: Take one roll and place 4 slices of browned sausage on the bottom half of the roll.

  7. How to Make Subs: Top with a ¼ cup of the sautéed peppers and onions. Add 2 tablespoons of cheese sauce over top.

  8. How to Make Subs: Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

  9. How to Make Subs: Serve immediately.

  10. Tips & Tricks: Alternatively, the sausage can be cut into sections rather than slices.

  11. Tips & Tricks: Mini Smoked Sausage Subs can be kept warm in an oven set to 250°F oven. Cheese sauce should be added right before serving.
